At 2K Manhattan, we like to think that we treat our employees well, that we respect their rights, provide great working conditions and value them as individuals. However, we also understand that we need to show our employees that we appreciate them in a practical, real way. In short, we need to give any employee who has earned it, a pay rise.
Of course, a pay rise is desirable because, with more money, you can buy more and better things. That new car you’ve been dreaming about? That bigger house, with a nice garden, for the kids? Go for it! But a pay rise can benefit employees in much more complex ways than this.
For example, with more money, you can buy more nutritious food, which can improve your health and therefore your mental well-being. You can also do a wider range of activities with your family and friends, who will not only give you new experiences and skills, but will also provide a great opportunity for quality bonding time.
But a major psychological benefit of a pay rise is an increase in self-worth. If an employee sees their wage increase, they feel valued by their employer, and understand that their efforts and hard work have been rewarded. And this is exactly why we recently gave our employees an average pay increase of $150 per week. We want to make sure that all of our employees feel valued and appreciated, and this pay rise is just one way of doing exactly that.
